nadia mariyan smith's (web)site

power

my colleagues, Nils, Han, and I, worked on having this website run on a solar-powered server made from reclaimed electronics located in Tsí Tkarón:to (Dish with One Spoon territory). Read more about this project here.
This page shows live data relating to power supply, power demand, and energy storage.

supply

this is a forecast for the coming days, updated daily:

this weather forecast is powered by Open-Meteo.

demand

these are live power statistics of the server:

battery meter

every page displays a battery meter, designed to display the relationship of the energy powering the website and the visitor traffic consuming it.
currently, the website runs on a 20W solar panel and a reclaimed 2022 Samsung Galaxy A03. We are continuing to experiment with our set-up, staying true to our intentions of only using used and reclaimed materials.

inspiration

we are inspired by and directly draw from LOW←TECH MAGAZINE, compost.party, Permacomputing as practice for digital Graphic Design, and Solar Protocol.
